Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens Review

TT's Lego Stars Wars The Force Awakens game seeks to shake it the status-quo but what exactly do these exciting changes entail? Will it be enough to win back Lego fans?  Let's read on to find out, Shall we?

Perhaps one of the most exciting changes to the game itself that up-ends the formula as we know it is that Tattle Tale Games has added a Third-Person Shooter (TPS aspect) in certain infantry firefights and a First-Person Shooter (FPS) aspect while taking control of certain ships in the game.

FPS Aspect of the game

The different change of aspects in-game isn't the only thing that seeks to shatter this traditional Lego formula status-quo. Some of the characters will have a scanner to scan certain things in-game that reveal stuff that show weaknesses in certain AI manned structures like Turrets manned by Stormtroopers and different structures you got to build with the same group of legos to get further in the level.

The cinematics are also more action-packed than prior Lego Star Wars games that seemed cheesy and boring which is a new departure. Your in-game characters that you play as also have a special melee attack that they can use, enemies and helpful AI also have voice casting which makes thems seem more lively however given all of this praise the game does have a few things (mainly annoyances) like one AI character was telling me over and over again to build something with a group of legos repetitively which got on my nerves, It's like the helpful AI only had one voice line to say and repeat. It would be much better if TT was going to do this that the AI would repeat it maybe one every 30 seconds or perhaps have you go to the AI person if you need an reminder of what needs to be done.

The game despite one minor annoyance the game itself is pretty awesome overall, The new formula brings much needed change and I hope in the future more titles will get this treatment like the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes 2 videogame coming out this year or perhaps a future entry of Lego Batman. I still feel like TT games needs to add a new series to it's line-up because Marvel, Batman and Star Wars being announced over and over again gets tiring. In fact it's almost predictable of what they're going to announce given the certain order they announce their new titles.
