Switch Version of Doom displays in 720p docked or undocked, 30 fps confirmed

In a confirmation of what I previously noted in my other Doom article about the fact that most likely due to the nature of Nintendo's modified Tegra X1 GPU that the game will only run at 30 FPS Bethesda has confirmed just that.

The Switch version will also only display in 720p docked or undocked and the game will appear different when it's docked due to the game being displayed on a much larger screen (basically because the video output is being blown up on-screen with no resolution boost or graphics boost).
That is what a PR Spokesman for Bethesda told Rolling Stone

The developer itself also said from the start that they aimed for the game to be displayed at 30 FPS. Unlike Skyrim, The game itself won't have motion controls which I find sad because I liked Wii shooting games where you had to aim on the screen and shoot, Nothing was more satisfying then that.

In a historical reference, This will be the first time Doom appeared on a Nintendo console since the Nintendo 64 days when the first doom came out (looked like Minecraft today). Along the side with Doom announced, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus was announced on the latest Nintendo Direct which I also expect to run at 30 FPS due to the GPU constraints.

The multiplayer component itself will be a 9GB download so make sure you have an memory card for your Nintendo Switch that will hold that. Since the cartilage holds 16 GB of data for Doom, I would recommend a memory card at least at 32 GB because a 16 GB card will only leave you open to 7 GB of storage left for patches and any system updates which tend to be really big in size.
