Battle.Net Could Get Some Worthy Updates Ahead of Destiny 2 Launch

If reports are correct, Blizzard could be looking to add some new additions to it's Battle.net service.
One of the thing being suggested is an "Appear Online" option for users that wish to leave their PCs on but let friends know that they're offline or for users to not be disturbed.

Profile Avatars would allow a measure of customization for users who want to get up and personal with their profiles. That seems to be the most obvious one as users right now only got a static profile picture with no option to change it.

Discord-styled groups could also arrive on the service allowing clans to form their own groups to hangout, Announce upcoming events and more. It probably wouldn't rival discord just yet but it's certainly a start for Blizzard.

The timing of these reports especially with the close-at-hand Destiny 2 release date definitely shows some strategic positioning. Perhaps Blizzard plans to have groups so Destiny 2 clans can play raids or strikes together or let solo players request help when one needs it.
