At it's E3 Conference, Nintendo announced a new Metroid game however there wasn't much gameplay to show. Many people including myself were thinking Nintendo's Metroid Prime series was done for after the launch of Metroid: Other M for Wii and Metroid Prime Force Federation for the 3DS with no Metroid game announced for the Wii U so this is a good surprise. The game itself is expected to launch in FY2018 (Fiscal Year 2018).
The game definitely looks like Wii-era graphics but this is the development phase so more graphical work probably will be done. For now though this video is all that is to show and more probably will be revealed in due time when Nintendo is ready to reveal more.
