Youtube Gets a New Website Redesign

Youtube Website Design (Youtube)

Google's Youtube officially got a new redesign on it's website today in what appears to be a look similar to something you would find on CNN. The main site now has a dark mode so you don't have to fall back on it's Youtube Gaming site to get "dark mode" while watching game streams or even movies. Dark mode darkens the User Interface of the site which is perfect for night-time so that your eyes don't get sore while watching a bright white screen.

The mobile apps coming out soon for iOS and Android also have controllable playback speed so you can adjust how fast a video's playback which would be useful if you're trying to get to the best part of a video or just trying to catch what somebody is saying. Youtube says it's going to roll out an adaptive playback window which will let you expand the ratio of a portrait video format (think zoom mode on your TV) so that it fills up your whole screen instead of cutting off the sides when you playback a video.

Perhaps the last thing worth noting is the Youtube logo and icon. The red part of the logo that revealed the "Tube" part of the it's logo now is a play button and reversed to the other side of the logo itself so basically the You"Tube" is now a play button on the left side rather than the right.
