Nvidia GPUs join the Crypto-Currency Fray

The Crypto-currency race has reached a new high point. A rig specifically created for Pascal and AMD GPUs has been created for multi-gpu mining rigs, tests have shown though that Pascal has better power efficiency compared to the RX 580 and that's important when running a multi-gpu mining system. Mining takes a big load on the GPU or CPU itself and a higher load requires more power which requires more cooling and venting space to get rid of the heat faster or you'll risk having your temperatures rise which will lower your performance.

This time it looks like the GTX 1070 will be next in line to go off the shelves with the AMD RX 580, 570 and 560 all sold out and selling for inflated prices online. Supply is scarce for the AMD RX series causing miners to run to Nvidia despite Nvidia historically having lower performance with coin mining. AMD typically has more performance when mining however requires more power draw whereas Nvidia has a similar but less performance with 33% in power savings making electricity bills much cheaper in the long run.

This is the mining rig specs:

The mining rig is for miners that mine Monero, Eth and ZCash. The PCB has a professional board in-tact that is advertised at giving you the most efficiency and also the best mining performance. It has 8 fans (4 built on both sides) and comes with a Intel Celeron CPU, 4GB Ram and and a 64 GB mSATA SSD. The PSU isn't included however I would recommend to buy a little more for a quality PSU because cheap components in a PSU will cost you an arm and leg if something goes wrong. Also paying for a brand like Thermaltake is definitely worth the cost in my opinion for something like this. Thermaltake has a good 7 year warranty and their customer service is one of the best in my experience.

For mining Ethereum (Eth), a 1000 watt PSU is recommended and should deliver 200 MH/s if you go with pascal. For mining Monero (XMR) and gives you 4,400 h/s, a 700 watt PSU is recommended and For ZCash (ZEC) a 1050 watts PSU is recommended and delivers 2500 Sol/s .  Eight 6-Pin Power connectors are needed to power these GPUs individually and Six 6-pin for powering up the system itself.

The Pascal GPUs used in this system also use passive coolers with maximum GPU clock rates and lower power draw from the PSU itself which is intended to keep costs down for the most part however with a rig running 8 GPUs that's going to require a lot of power to run it by itself so getting the best power efficiency is a must here. For a rig like this I would recommend a 60 Platinum Rating for the PSU that way you can be sure you got a PSU that will help with powe
r efficiency as well.
