1.They don't have a backlight which produces deep black colors and is generally thinner and lighter than a regular LCD screen. It can also produce higher contrast levels in darker rooms with low lighting.
2. They produce better picture quality and a wider viewing angle similar to IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology in monitors because OLED light pixels emit light directly. The picture looks correct and not saturated even while viewing for a far left or far right viewpoint (90 degree angle).
3. It displays higher refresh rates compared to LCD although 4K Televisions also do the same thing to reduce motion ghosting and blur (Plasma televisions were known for motion ghosting). It displays 240 FPS compared to a regular LED / LCD television which is good for gaming if you have a high end PC that you use to game a lot on.
4. This technology especially when used in 4k televisions is expensive but there are reports that it will eventually get cheaper over time. The tech has been on the market for at least 5 years and it hasn't been getting cheaper and 4K doesn't look like it's helping to promote that trend either.
5. They produce better power efficiency compared to LCD televisions. LCD televisions only partially emit light therefore it can't display deep blacks compared to OLED however a OLED inactive light doesn't emit light therefore saving more power.
