Corsair Announces 16GB DDD4-4600 Vengeance LPX DRAM Kits

As if DDR4 4000 RAM wasn't fast enough for the speed demons out there, Corsair just upped the speed for it's Vengeance LPX DRAM series. There are 2 new kits aimed at Intel's Kaby Lake and Intel's X299 series platforms, These are both 16 GB dual channel RAM kits but one runs at DDR4 4500 and the other runs at DDR4 4600 MT/s data transfer rates and they have different timings. The DDR4 4500 timing runs at CL19-19-19-39 at 1.45 Volts and the DDR4 4600 kit runs at CL19-26-26-46 at 1.5 Volts.

Corsair verified the stable performance at transfer rates beyond those recommended by JEDEC using Intel Kaby Lake-X CPU and Asrock's X299 OC Formula board. The OC formula board only runs at One DIMM per channel (vs. 2 DPC on most X299 Motherboards) to guarantee a cleaner data path and stable power delivery to maximize overclocking potential. Corsair doesn't equip it's LEDs on the low profile RAM due to power supply issues.

Of course in this picture you can see what it looks like, The heat spreaders are made out of black aluminum which will work for many types of builds:

While much of this is marketing "especially the 2nd paragraph" hence promotion to get you to buy something, The black aluminum material on the heat spreaders are nothing new except the design and the DDR4 standard. The DDR4-4500 kit will run you at $479.99 and the DDR4-4600 kit will cost $549.99.

On a personal building advise note: If you're investing into an ATX case build don't invest money into low-profile RAM, Get RAM with fins on it so that you can be sure that the RAM itself can regulate all of that heat while it's in use otherwise you might risk your RAM stick burning out which would be a shame especially at this price point.
