AMD Raven Ridge APUs to be released in Q1 2017

AMD is poised to reveal it's new A-Series APUs featuring Zen Cores in Q1 2018 (Between December and March 2018) that has a Vega 10 1024 Core gpu on-board. The awesome thing about this new series is gone is the CPU cores that always held back performance compared to AMD's regular CPU series. AMD is still going to be using between 2 and 4 Cores in it's new APUs but hopefully that won't hinder game performance too much due to the fact that this is supposed to have full-fledged Zen Cores.

I do appreciate the fact that it has unified both platforms (The A series and Ryzen) and is now putting it's mainstream CPU cores on-board instead of it's weaker ones but I wish it would increase it's core count to 8 cores. Granted you can only do so much on a single die on a chip without increasing the size of the processor itself and it's a lofty goal but it's something that I hope they achieve one day. If they can put 8 cores and give graphical performance equal to an HD 7850 GPU on a console custom APU then surely they could do the same for PC gamers. Of course putting 8 cores and a dedicated GPU on-chip equal to a mid-range GPU might undercut it's other products not to mention increase the retail price but I think if they managed to not move up the price too much and add value it might just catch on.

Regardless of it's future plans or my opinion on what they should do for the future, One thing is for certain: AMD is definitely starting to make APU's look like a more appealing choice for entry gamers and people like me that are seeking to build a APU set-up without breaking the bank.
