The new summer operation for CS:GO has finally arrived. The update features 5 different maps: Austria, Shipped, Lite, Thrill, Black Gold, Agency (Hostage) and Insertion (Hostage). Now what's different in this Operation compared to the one that I last played in 2014 (I know a long time ago) is that it comes with this War Games Mode with 6 different unique game modes on 6 different maps, a CO-OP guardian campaign and more.
These are the details of these game modes and what the objective is:
- Boom! Headshot : This game mode is centered around getting headshots to get the kill, any other way of getting kills wouldn't register and it's on a inside office building.
-Trigger Discipline : You basically got to be on target with your weapon when you shoot or the damage you would have dealt the enemy would go onto you, example: instead of dealing the enemy 11 damage with a MP7 gun on-target, you end up being dealt 11 damage for missing. The way I like to do is dodge weapon fire and then use an auto to kill a enemy. This game mode takes place on Cache.
-Stab, Stab,Zap! : basically you use a taser and knife on a tiny house map to get kills, you only get one shot with the taser and then you have to wait about 4 to 5 minutes for it to reload (this is just an estimate, I didn't use a timer to get the exact measurement of time).
-Heavy Assault Armor: The game mode takes place on Dust and it's a basic defuse operation, the only different thing is you can pay $6000 to buy a heavy suit.
-Flying Scoutsman: This takes place on a forest map and you use your scout rifle to kill people as you moon jump from spot to spot. The best way to avoid getting hit is technically move around and be unpredictable with your moon jumps.
-Hunter-Gatherers: This one is basically a copy of Call of Duty's "Kill-Confirmed" mode in CS:GO, kill the enemy and grab the tags. The team that reaches kill limit first wins.
Now for $5.99 you get the Friend Co-op campaign to play and earn marks towards getting a better Operation Coin, as well as weapons,Operation Hydra drops, extra XP, a Operation Hydra Case and a Guardian Journal.
You don't have to pay $5,99 if you don't want the friends Co-op but I would get it due to the drops and the hydra cases that are currently $30 to get on the Steam Market. It's not by anything mandatory, you can play the new maps without the pass but just beware you won't get hydra-specific drops or cases.
