Microsoft Renames Beam to Mixer and Adds Other Features

Microsoft renamed it's Beam as Mixer and added Mobile Broadcasting for iOS and Android as well as Co-Streaming and a Guide on what's streaming on it's service. Beam's Co-Streaming allows up to 4 People to Co-Stream at once and combine it into basically one stream, perfect for talk shows like the ones on Twitch these days. The Co-Streaming feature is available for all Mixers users although for Xbox One User you'll have to wait a few weeks to get your chance.

Mixer is also launching a new app that let's you basically do a mobile broadcast on Android and iOS called 'Mixer Create", It will later on let you stream gameplay as well from your smartphone. There a new thing called 'Channel One" that simply allows people to know what's new on the service and what's currently popular. The Xbox One dashboard will also have a Mixer Page which will basically do the same thing as "Channel One".

Microsoft is also adapting to Twitch in terms of letting users streaming more than just gameplay which could be anything ranging from talk shows to vlogs. Mixer to my surprise also launched with the Windows 10 Creators Update earlier this month. It's also introducing a New Production Studio intended to let people host events on it's like E-Sports and which will also go live with the service.

It let's people do stuff like 2D and 3D graphics effects, a digital audio system creating concert quality sound for arenas, interactive lighting effects, a video wall, player lounges as well as audience and set-ups for commentary or announcers.
